All America

When I took his hand
I felt some slight reserve
And the only time that his father ever held him
Was when Mother was leaving the car

When I kissed her cheek
She drew back with some surprise
And the only time that her father ever kissed her
When when she was saying goodbye

It's going to take some time
To regrow this tree
Now while we're all waiting
It'll give us chance to sing

All America will be waving
Slipping into the sea
All America will be dancing
Slipping into the sea
All America will be singing
Slipping into the sea

Now while we're all waiting
It'll give us chance to sing

All America will be waving
Slipping into the sea
All America will be singing
Slipping into the sea
All America will be laughing
Slipping into the sea

When I picked him up
He began to cry
And the only time that a stranger ever held him
Was when Doctor Brown put him back
It's going to really really take some time
To regrow this tree

Now while we're all waiting
It'll give us chance to sing

All America will be laughing
Slipping into the sea
All America will be dancing
Slipping into the sea
All America will be watching
Slipping into the sea
All America will be running, running
All America will be looking
Slipping into the sea

All America will be really, really, really, really, watching
All America will be really waving, really waving, really waving
Slipping into the sea
Slipping into the sea
All America will be watching, dancing, singing
Slipping into the sea
All America will be smiling
Slipping into the sea
